Concrete Pumps
Good Earth Tools has a reputation of partnering with customers to solve wear resistance problems for industrial tools with carbide protected wear parts. An excellent example of this reputation for applying solutions that extended component life and productivity is in the construction industry. Good Earth Tools (GET) has partnered with several concrete pumping contractors to solve the wear resistance problem faced as thousands of yards of concrete pass through their spectacle plate equipment. This impact wear is due to tons of tramp iron and other highly abrasive concrete mixes that apply punishing impact against the inner rings of the spectacle plates, thus greatly reducing the life of the part. Additionally, this inconvenience and decreased concrete pumping ability causes pipe clogs for the concrete pumpers, leading to tedious downtime for mechanical repair, greatly impairing productivity and profits. The solution that Good Earth Tools developed with customers was to engineer an innovative sealing system and a one-piece design that would add carbide protection to both the inside and outside diameters of the spectacle plates. The results were remarkable when we tested this with our customers. Tests proved that the life expectancy from a Good Earth Tools spectacle plate could outlast the original manufactured part as much as 2 times longer in service life, adding significant cost savings of up to 45 percent from our customers’ previous operational costs. If you are experiencing disruptions in productivity and maintenance downtime, Good Earth Tools would be interested in discussing your situation. Please contact us for further information.
